Lt. Col. Albert and Mrs. Elizabeth Byrd of Clanton are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kathryn Spanier, to Charua Lombo, son of Dr. Lombo Simba Lombo and Mrs. Juliana Simba of Hoover.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Richard Crowson of Clanton.

She is a 2007 graduate of Chilton County High School.

She graduated from the University of Montevallo, where she majored in history.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Jonah Mwasimba Lombo and Alice Mukulu Mwasimba, and William Charua Hulila and Caroline Bahati.

He is a 2008 graduate of Pan Africa’s Christian University.

He attends Jefferson State Community College, where he is majoring in communications.

He is employed at Whole Foods.

The wedding will be Sept. 6 at First United Methodist Church in Clanton.

Family and friends in the community are invited to attend.
