Mountain Springs Church
We are very proud to announce that Bro. Heath Vines is now the new pastor for Mountain Springs Church. We are so honored to have him and his wife Mrs. Freda Vines and their three children as a part of our church family. We cannot wait to see what God has in store for us at Mountain Springs.
Services started with Bro. Kenneth Moates leading the church in the following hymns: “Oh, I Want to See Him,” “If I Could Hear My Mother Pray Again,” “The Prettiest Flowers Will Be Blooming” and “This World is Not My Home.”
Bro. Roger Cleckler gave a devotion from Proverbs 31:20-25. We need to be thankful for the godly mothers that we have.
After Sunday school, Bro. Kenneth led the church in the hymn “Glad Reunion Day” and Savannah Parrish, Hannah Vines and Kadie Coker sang “Thank You Lord for Your Blessings On Me.”
Bro. Heath preached from Titus 2:1-5. We’ve got to be faithfully committed to church and to the Word of God. The most important thing a mom can give her children is to tell them about the love of God. Our Vacation Bible School will be June 2-6 at 6:30 p.m. each night. We encourage you to attend and bring your kids. It will be a great and fun time in the Lord.
Calvary Independent Baptist Church
We want to thank everyone for attending services this weekend. Sunday morning services included a message from 2 Timothy 1:1-12 on mothers and their influence. Paul saw a faith in Timothy that he had seen in Timothy›s grandmother and also in Timothy›s mother. What matters to us and is most important to us is easily seen through our actions that speak louder than words ever will. When we have unfeigned faith that is in the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will also see results of that faith in our family. A living faith that is a lasting fire for the things of God makes an impact not only in our children›s lives but also in everyone around us.
We hope that you have known some godly women that have made a positive impact in your life and that you are also living out that same faith in your family as well.
Sunday night’s service included a message about how we spend our time. Life gives us 3,600 seconds every hour or 84,000 seconds every day and how we use them is very important. Bro. Kevin Shaw brought out how time can be stolen, lost, wasted or be cherished, all according to how we choose to use it. We looked at scriptures from Ephesians 5:15-16, Proverbs 29:1, James 4:14, John 9: 1-7 and Ecclesiastes 9:10 on how to spend our time wisely for God.
We hope that you are redeeming the time and taking opportunity to live a life pleasing unto God and a life that is bringing others closer unto Christ. If you are looking for a church to visit with this Sunday we would love to see you at Calvary.
