Hallelujah! Praise the Lamb!
We would like to thank all our visitors for coming out today and we hope to see you again.
Prayer concerns: Bro. Stony and family, Rita Price, Mary McGuire, Kim Crowe, Rachel Hubbard, Renee Cleckley, Amelia Hubbard, Diane Patterson family, Joyce Scott Nanett Fricke and those in hospitals and nursing homes.
My goodness, we had an awesome Holy Ghost filled service today with healing prayers, love and kindness abounding. What a blessing.
Bro. Gary sang “There Is Power in the Name of Jesus” and “How Great Is Our God.”
Pastor Bro. Jeff Carroll’s text came from 1 Corinthians 7: 25-40 titled “The Trouble with Marriage.”
Proverbs 5:18: “Let your fountain be blessed and rejoice with the wife of your youth.” Proverbs 18:22: “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.”
The morality of generations has changed over the years and has rapidly declined into immorality. To be a virgin girl or boy, man or woman was and still is a high honor in the eyes of God and Christians today. The most famous virgin ever was the mother of Jesus. Today we see it is being taught in schools to our children that it is no longer an honor to be a virgin, but to be a child of Christ as a single person you must be a virgin until marriage.
The trouble begins in the flesh. Satan wants you to believe it is ok to have a premarital intimate relationship, and you do not have to wait until you are married. That, my friends, is a lie of the devil. Trouble can also begin when the marriage takes place because a lot of changes happen. When single you can devote all your time to God as his servant. We know and see that when we enter into marriage, we try to please our spouse and God. God should always without question come first in our lives, but sometimes the line becomes blurred. We need to have zeal for serving and obeying God. A wife is bound by law as long as her husband is alive, but if he perishes or the wife perishes, then it is okay to remarry as long it is with God.
How far down on the list of priorities in your marriage is God? Whatever you do, stay right with God and you will never go wrong. Love to all have a blessed week. Hope to see you at Cedar Grove for worship!
Calvary Independent Baptist Church
We would like to invite you to visit with us this Sunday. On Sunday night, we will have Vacation Bible School, starting with registration and kick-off. Our theme this year is “Cross-Canyon Trail” and is about riding strong with Jesus. VBS will be going strong Monday through Friday nights, June 9-13 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. each night. We will also have an adult class, so if you want to bring your kids or grandkids and take part in a class yourself, we hope to see you there! If you need a ride, we will be running a bus all week.
