Aaron Ellison won the office of Chilton County Coroner in Tuesday’s primary election.
Ellison earned 6,088 votes (about 66 percent of the votes) to top Awlahjaday Agee, who received 3,148 votes (about 34 percent) according to unofficial election results.
“We are thankful to the people of Chilton County for giving us the opportunity to serve them, and we look forward to serving them over the next four years,” Ellison said after the election. “We don’t take lightly what they’ve entrusted us to do, and we’re going to fulfill that office to the best of our ability.”
Ellison said Tuesday was a “calm day” for him.
“We were focused on getting people to the polls today, and we were able to do that,” Ellison said. “It’s something that we put in the Lord’s hands, and he has seen best to give us this opportunity to serve, and for that we’re thankful.”
Ellison expressed gratitude to those who supported him from the time he announced his candidacy through the election Tuesday and said he looks forward to meeting with other newly elected officials to serve the families of Chilton County.
