Samaria Baptist Church

We had an amazing Palm Sunday service at Samaria today. God is so good, and we are blessed beyond measure. Our interim label came off today as our church called Bro. Shane Wyatt and his family to pastor our church.

Our music today was very special as well. Darrell Willis sang “It Was Me” and Stacy Wyatt sang our invitation song, “Nail It to the Cross.”

Bro. Shane’s message today was titled “Strategy of Satan.” Our scripture passages began with Genesis 3. Because of our Lord Jesus Christ we can be overcomers. However, Satan isn’t going to give up until he has lost the final battle. He deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden, and then Adam was deceived as well. Satan didn’t paint a grim picture of the outcome. He makes his temptation beautiful to the eye and appealing to the human mind. He wants us to think it will be grand for us to listen to him and follow the ways of the world. But the end is death and destruction.

We all face troubles and trials in life. Some are physical, some emotional, and some involve mental and emotional instability. Satan plays on all our illness and wants us to surrender. He never wants us to give our troubles and trials to Jesus. He wants us to give up, give in and suffer defeat at his hands.

We are conquerors with Christ. Nobody has to cope with the issues of life alone. Without Christ we have no hope, no joy, no peace and no future. Why would anyone ever try to take on the devil without the power of God?

Job endured awful suffering at the hands of Satan. God would not allow the devil to take Job’s life, so Satan knows who has the power to defeat him.

Jesus was tempted by Satan with an offer of the world if he would bow down and worship him. He was foolish, since Jesus already owned the world and had no need to worship the evil one. Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.

We had no evening service because we enjoyed fellowship in the park with a church-wide cookout, egg hunt and games galore. It’s wonderful to fellowship with our church family. We all had an amazing time together in the Lord.

Happy birthday to Emily Parker, Brantley Deavers, Jonathon Stoneback and Suzanne Tracy.

May the Joy of Easter fill your heart and your home this Resurrection Season. Our Easter worship service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. If you need a church home, we welcome you to join us at Samaria. God bless.

Mountain Springs Church

Services started with Bro. Kenneth Moates leading the church in the following hymns: “Ole Time Religion,” “Wonderful Peace,” “I’d Rather be an Old-Time Christian” and “I Want to Know More About My Lord.”

Bro. Roger Cleckler gave a devotion from Psalms 33:1-3. It’s left up to me and you to do what the Lord calls us to do.

After Sunday school, Bro. Kenneth led the church in the hymn “Joy Unspeakable” and some of our youth sang “Boundless Love.”

Bro. Heath preached from Matthew 24:1-4. We need to get prepared for Jesus’ return because he is coming back soon. Are you prepared for what’s about to take place?

Sunday night’s service began with Bro. Kenneth leading the church in the hymns: “Glory to His Name,” “I Will Trade the Old Cross for a Crown,” “Just Over in the Glory Land” and “I Never Shall Forget the Day.”

Bro. Kenneth gave a devotion from 1 Corinthians 4:1-2. If we want God to bless us, we need to be faithful to him.

Bro. Heath preached from Luke 9:1-9. There is darkness in this world, but as long as we walk with God he will give us light. God has given us power and authority over the devil. Do you believe God has the power to free this world from the wiles of the devil?
