Plans for a series of movie showings to take place at the Jefferson State Community College Chilton-Clanton Campus this summer have stalled due to issues related to movie licensing.
Jeff State released the following statement Tuesday: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Jefferson State Community College summer movie series will temporarily be put on hold. Jefferson State Community College continues to seek ways to foster community involvement and will update these events as new information is received.”
The series, “Bringing Literature and History to Life,” was to include showings on June 6, June 13, July 11 and July 25 of “The Great Gatsby,” “Twelve Years a Slave,” “The Hobbit” and “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” respectively.
Movies were to be free and open to the public at 6:30 p.m. each night in the theater at the Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center.
