Cedar Grove Church

Prayer concerns: Janet Wyatt, Billy Caton, Jean Varden, Eli Jackson, Mary McGuire, Buddy, the Cedar Grove family, Bobbie and Earl Giles, those in the hospitals and nursing homes, spoken and unspoken requests.

We at Cedar Grove would like to say how proud we were for all our visitors today and would like to welcome you back. We would also like to invite those of you that do not have a home church to join our family at Cedar Grove in worshiping and praising the Lord, but above all, sharing his gospel until his welcomed return.

Pastor Bro. Jeff Carroll’s text came from 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 titled “What Are We Doing?”

The word of God is alive from generation to generation. The body God gives us is to be used for his glory and honor. Our body is the temple for God, to live in and reign through us. Our body is a vessel God has given us to house our spirit and his Spirit. If your right hand offends you, cut it off; for it is better to go into heaven with one hand than into hell with two hands. If your left eye offends thee, pluck it out; it is better to enter heaven with one eye to see than enter hell with two. In other words, if you are seeing or doing something that should not enter the temple of God, ask God to deliver you from whatever it is that Satan is trying to send into the temple.

To be made whole through Jesus Christ, the outward body may die, but our inner spirit is being renewed daily. What do you allow to enter into the temple of God to reside with the Spirit of God? Do you allow the spirit of alcohol, the spirit of drugs or rejection? Defiling the temple of God has consequences. God is holy. When Jesus was talking to the Pharisees, he told them, “If you tear the temple down, I will raise it up again in three days.” They did not realize he was talking about being crucified on the cross and laid in a tomb. He rose again on the third day as prophesied.

Does Jesus dwell in you today? God wants to dwell in the hearts of each of us, to live with us take care of us daily. You may ask what we have to do for Jesus to come into our hearts and make our body his temple. The answer is simple: Believe that Jesus is the Christ, the risen son of God. Repent of your sins, surrendering all to God, letting him become Lord and Savior of your life.

I thank God that he is a God of second chances. God does not wish that any should perish, but all that believe on him shall have everlasting life. Let Jesus cleanse your temple today, because what is in your heart will come out of your mouth.

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Love to all. God Bless and have a great week!

Calvary Independent Baptist Church

We would like to extend a special invitation to those who have visited our church lately and welcome you back to be a part of any of our services.

Sunday morning’s service included a message preached by one of our missionaries. He used scriptures mostly from the book of John about the seven witnesses for Christ, seven miracles done by Christ and seven reasons Jesus and the Father are one God.

We hope you are saved and are enjoying a personal relationship with our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sunday night’s service included a short song service followed by a short message from James 5:17-18 and 1 Kings 18:41-45 with these questions: What are we praying for, what are we looking for and what are we hoping for?

Elijah was a man with passions as you and I, yet God answered his prayer to stop rain upon earth for over three years. Then God answered his prayer to begin the rain upon the earth again. Do we really pray expecting God to do a work in our day, or are we sort of like Ahab who saw little to nothing? Elijah looked for an abundance of rain and the Bible says there was a great rain that came.

What are we praying for? We as a church should be praying for souls to be saved and lives to be changed. Our hope should always be in Jesus Christ and what he can do. We hope you had opportunity to be in church this past weekend and we trust that you left saying that it has been good to be in the house of the Lord! If not, and you are looking for a church to attend this Sunday, we would love to see you at Calvary!

Jackson Chapel Church

Bro. Gary Fant got the morning worship service started off with “Stand Up For Jesus” and “Jesus Hold My Hand.” Bro. Dennis Smith blessed us with a beautiful song titled “I’m Changing Houses.”

Bro. Dennis’ text came from Numbers 32:1-13. There are times when we as Christians have to make sacrifices to make it to heaven. It is not easy for us as Christians to make it to heaven so we need to understand we will have to work for it. We as a church have to understand that we also have a job to do as members in particular and that is to work together. If we are not working together and pulling in the same direction, the church will never move forward. We need to dedicate ourselves to Jesus Christ. If we do not, we as Christians will never see a move of God.

The service ended with several coming to pray.

Wanda Chadwick got the evening service started off with “The Glory Land Way” and “Victory in Jesus.” Juli Solis blessed us with “A Little Good News” and Bro. Horace Wyatt blessed us with “Sheltered in the Arms of God.” Bro. Dennis Smith, Wanda Chadwick and Angel Bavar blessed us with “On The Road to Emmaus,” “Canaanland is Just in Sight,” “They’re Holding Up the Ladder,” “One Day I Will,” “Touring That City,” “Rock of Ages,” “Mansion Over the Hilltop,” “Where the Roses Never Fade,” “What a Beautiful Day for the Lord to Come Again” and “I Know My Redeemer Lives.”
