God is so good and gives us blessings beyond measure. One of those blessings is the opportunity to meet together with his people on a beautiful Sunday morning to sing praises to him and worship his sweet name. Another is the group of children he blesses us with to give us joy. We got a taste of this on Sunday morning by two-year-old Gabriel Smith beginning our service with his version of “He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands.” Our special music was presented by Holly Smith singing “Oceans.”
Bro. Derrell brought a very true and inspiring message on Sunday morning titled “Almost, But Not Quite.” The text he used was from 2 Chronicles 24:1-22.
He asked if anyone was hungry for a revival and assured us that it could happen. Even though there are many trials in our nation today, the basis of this assurance can be found in 2 Chronicles 7:14. There are steps that have to be taken in order for a revival to happen. We must mend what is broken in God’s house. This mending must be done wholeheartedly. We, as God’s people, need to take a look at ourselves and be sure that we are not neglecting to put God first in our lives, thereby avoiding making idols of other things. Leaders will need to strive to follow the commands of God and not surrender to evil. Also, we must not ignore God’s call for repentance of our wicked ways. If you feel that we are on the brink of revival, maybe we are, “almost, but not quite.”
Sunday evening, God sent us a message from Luke 9:23 and John 14:6 titled “A New Way.” To be an instrument to help show someone who is lost and searching for something is not an easy task. To do this takes a person walking daily with God and living their life for him. Remembering how you felt at the time you were introduced to this new way, wouldn’t you love to see others experience this wonderful feeling as well? We can only be used to point others in the direction of a new way when we are allowing God to be our leader. When you feel that you cannot be this instrument, just remember: you can’t on your own, but God is powerful enough to do it through you.
We have some very serious prayer needs in our church family at this time. We ask that you please pray for Tammy Harmon, Jenny Hayes, Doug Liveoak, Jim Hayes, Frances Higgins, Abby Lockhart, Vickie Edwards, Jacob Jones, Sarah Scott and Elladene Mims.
If you do not have a church home, you have a special invitation to come worship with us at Mt. Carmel No. 1.

We want to thank everyone for attending services. Sunday morning’s service included a message from John 17:20-18:1 titled “Hearing the Master’s Call.”
We can hear the masters call through the spoken words of Jesus, the spoken way of Jesus and the spoken walk of Jesus. The Bible gives us what we need to prepare us for the journey ahead. Sometimes that journey may have some dark streams. There may be some tough times in our future, but by believing the word of God and trusting in Jesus, we can be prepared and will make it over them.
Are you hearing the Master’s call for your life today? Are you farther in your Christian walk of faith today than when you first believed?
Sunday night’s service included a message from 2 Kings 4:1-7 and other passages titled “Asking, Trusting, and Living.” Bro. Kevin Shaw preached about asking God for what we need and trusting that he will provide our needs. We have promises through the Scriptures that God is able to provide for us, and that by believing his Word, we can have faith and assurance to fully trust him. Sometimes we may not be able to understand how, yet we do understand that he is able. What is impossible with man is very possible with God and it is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
We hope that you are trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and are faithfully serving him. If you are looking for a church in the Clanton area, we hope you will consider visiting with us this Sunday at Calvary.
