Rebels win first two of season

Thorsby’s baseball team won two games Monday at Paterson Field in Montgomery.
First, the Rebels defeated LAMP, 12-8.
Conner McRae pitched four innings, and Dylan Carroll came on in relief to pitch three innings and earn the win.
Chris Brown scored four runs, Matt Morgan scored two runs and drove in two runs, Tyler Owens scored one run and drove in two runs, and Carroll helped himself with a two-run single.
In the second game, a 7-6 win over Montgomery Academy, Blake Bradberry started on the mound and pitched 4 1/3 innings.
Thorsby scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 5-3 lead, but Montgomery Academy took the lead back, 6-5, with three runs in the bottom of the fifth, knocking Bradberry from the game.
Bailey Sellers recorded the final two outs of the fifth inning.
The Rebels took the lead for good with two runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Morgan pitched the final two innings.
McRae scored one run and drove in two runs, and Chris Brown pitched in with a two-run double.
Wesley Posey went three-for-three at the plate with a double and two runs scored.
