“Stay together and don’t give up on each other,” he said. “Play as a group. You can’t have anybody playing for themselves.”

Hubbert said he hopes the 2013 team has left a lasting impression on the program by establishing a new standard that future squads will be judged by.

As for Chambers, the coach knows that not everyone in his position is fortunate enough to have a player of his caliber.

“He’s the kind of quarterback that every high school coach needs to have the opportunity to coach,” Hubbert said. “You don’t get one every year. I was fortunate enough to have one for three years.”
