Mountain Springs Church
Services started on Sunday with Bro. Kenneth Moates leading the church in the following hymns: “Revive Us Again,” “Oh, How I Love Jesus,” “The Glory Land Way” and “I’ll Be Listening.”
Bro. Roger Cleckler gave a devotion from Psalms 40:5: We forget about the wonderful works God does for us. God has gifts for us for all eternity. Always remember what he does for you each day.
After Sunday school, Bro. Kenneth led the church in the hymn “Heaven’s Jubilee” and Kellie Bice sang “Did I Mention.”
Bro. Don preached from Proverbs 14:12: So many people today are too worried about themselves or what others think about them to even consider if the way they are living is right or wrong. We don’t have to presume what’s right or wrong because the word of God was given to us to show the difference between what’s right and what’s wrong.
Sunday night’s service began with Bro. Kenneth leading the church in the hymns “I Love My Savior, Too,” “Joy Unspeakable” and “Where the Soul Never Dies.”
Bro. Sam Ross preached from Matthew 16:21-27: It is not worth losing God’s trust just to be popular in the world. It is a personal choice whether or not to be faithful to Christ. What is it worth to you?
Mountain Spring’s youth and teens will be performing their Christmas musicals Sunday night, Dec. 15 and 22 at 5:30 p.m. Both of these performances will be a blessing for all who attend.
Calvary Independent Baptist Church
We want to thank everyone for attending services this weekend. We want to say a special thanks to our visitors who attended services this weekend and want to invite them back to be a part of any and all of our services.
Sunday morning’s services included a message from John 12:1-11 titled “Jesus Christ, the Center of True Worship.” Worship remembers a past, yet has a present ongoing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Worship requires a sacrifice, and worship is retained by the decisions that we ourselves must make. We must choose to answer the call of God upon our lives and be willing and wanting to live for the Lord. Sunday night’s service included a message from Galatians 3:26-29, Matthew 22:36-40, John 14:21 and Ephesians 5:1-10 about having a simple, unadulterated love for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Bro. Kevin Shaw preached about the message in the song of “The Little Drummer Boy.” This little boy had no money or fine gifts, but used what he had to glorify and worship the baby Jesus. We all would do well to have a child-like faith and love for the Lord Jesus Christ and learn to worship him in spirit and in truth this Christmas.
We hope you are saved and attending a Bible-believing church near you that is building you up in faith and edifying you in your walk with and worship of Christ this Christmas season. If not, would you consider a visit with us this Sunday at Calvary? We would love to see you Sunday morning!
