Sue L. Edge, 72, of Vestavia Hills passed away on Oct. 1 at Mt. Royal Towers in Vestavia Hills.
She was born on July 25, 1941, in Monroe, the daughter of the late Lindsey Wilson Lambert and the late Clemis Spears Lambert.
She was youth director and Sunday School teacher at Thorsby First Baptist for many years.
She was an English/Spanish teacher at Thorsby High School for 20 years.
After her retirement she was an Upward Bound director at the University of Montevallo and also taught adult literacy classes.
Surviving are her husband, the Rev. Robert C. Edge Jr.; sons, Marc Edge (Becky), Bryan Edge (Cassandra), Jonathan Edge (Amelia), Chris Edge (Jennifer); granddaughters, Erin Young, Katie, Allison, Rachael Edge, Brooke, Savannah Edge; grandsons, Heath Edge, Keaton Edge (Shae), Marc, Brody and Jordan Edge; great-grandchildren, Grayson and Kade Edge; and brother, Roger Lambert (Gaylon).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lindsey and Clemis Lambert and brother, Lindsey W. Lambert Jr.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Oct. 2 at Thorsby First Baptist Church.
Services will be held on Oct. 3 at 2 p.m. at Thorsby First Baptist Church with the Rev. Marc Hodges officiating.
Interment will follow in Thorsby Memorial Cemetery in Thorsby.
