The Leeds Green Wave defeated the Thorsby Rebels in a region game on Friday with a score of 42-0.
“Our guys worked hard and I am proud of them,” Rebels coach Billy Jackson said. “Sometimes, our team is just outmatched.”
The Green Wave started the game out strong with three touchdowns before halftime.
Although Jackson said he focused on encouraging his players to finish out the second half of the game by completing each play, the Rebels struggled to gain momentum with three more touchdowns scored by the Green Wave.
“We are going to come back out to the field on Monday and work on fundamentals so we can play hard against Horseshoe Bend,” Jackson said.
The Rebels finished out the game with 94 yards rushing and 19 yards passing and were four for nine passing.
Senior Donnie Hoffman was the leading rusher for the Rebels with nine carries for 67 yards.
