Calvary Independent Baptist Church
We want to say a special thanks to the City of Clanton, Through the Grace of God Ministries and all others involved in making possible the Back-to-School Block Party on Saturday night. We ask that everyone continue to pray for our schools, teachers and students as they go through this new school year.
We thank our visitors and everyone else who attended services this weekend. Sunday morning’s service included a message from John 8:7-11 titled “To Know the Things of God.” There will be some who only question the word of God and leave in unbelief. Whether it’s the spoken word or the written word, when it brings conviction, it should turn us to Christ. The word of God needs to be constantly at work in our lives every day.
Sunday night’s service included a message from Matthew 7:20-23, 2 Timothy 3:1-7 and Revelation 3:14-17.
Bro. Kevin Shaw preached on the fruit in our lives and what kind of work we are doing for the Lord Jesus Christ. He closed with this question: If God wrote a letter to us individually, as he did the seven churches in the Revelation, what would be in the letter? Would we be cold, unconcerned and not doing all that we could be doing, or would we be on fire for God?
We hope you are saved and serving in a Bible-preaching and teaching church. We know the Lord is still saving souls and changing lives, and we are very thankful for what he has been doing at Calvary.
If you have an opportunity to visit, we would love to see you this Sunday at Calvary. We are located south of Clanton, just past Dollar General, off U.S. 31 on Fulmer Drive.
