Myrtis Junie Mims, 84, of Clanton, passed away on Aug. 26 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born on June 12, 1929 in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Alton Driver and the late Effie Mae Mims Driver.

She was a homemaker and retired from the State of Alabama Teachers Retirement System.

Surviving are her son, Edwin Mims of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Frances Mitchell (Donald) of Clanton; nephew, Ray Mitchell (Brenda) of Tallahassee, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Addis Eugene Mims.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Graveside services will be held Aug. 30 at 11 a.m. at Temple Assembly of God Cemetery with the Rev. Royce Ellison officiating.
