Interstate 65 northbound near Clanton is now open after being temporarily closed  early Thursday morning due to a two-vehicle crash.

Troopers responded to the scene of the crash between mile markers 212 and 219 at about 7:45 a.m. Thursday on I-65 northbound.

One person has died in the crash, according to Alabama Department of Public Safety Sgt. Steve Jarrett.

Clanton police were on the scene of the crash rerouting northbound traffic off I-65 Exit 212 to Alabama 145 (Lay Dam Road) and then to U.S. Highway 31.
