Wilbur Glenn Ellison

Wilbur Glenn Ellison, 71, of Clanton, passed away on Aug. 2 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born on July 28, 1942, in Chilton County, the son of the late Thomas Jefferson Ellison and the late Lurla Mae Sammons Ellison.

He was a retired foreman in building construction.

Surviving are his wife, Myra Robinson Ellison; son, Chad Ellison of Clanton; two daughters, Ginger E. Ricks and Shelley E. Minor, both of Clanton; like a son, Johnny Carter of Fort Campbell, Ky.; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; brother, Jerry Ellison of Trussville; sister, Jean Almaroad of Jemison; sister, Wanda Wilkins of Clanton and a special nephew, Greg Woodfin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, T.J. and Lurla Ellison; brother, Pete Ellison; brother, Kenneth Ellison; brother, Sammy Ray Ellison and sister, Vernell Ellison.

Funeral services were held on Aug. 4 at 2 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matt DeBord officiating.

Friends were received from 1-2 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel prior to the funeral service.

Entombment followed at Martin Mausoleum in Clanton.
