William Roy Dooley

William Roy “Tom” Dooley, age 70 of Clanton, joined Jesus and his mother in Heaven on July 2, 2013.

His spirit man soared like an eagle as he entered into the pearly gates of Glory.

He was born in Verbena on May 18, 1943, the son of the late Danial Arlen Dooley and the late Pearlie Peters Dooley.

He was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by: wife, Martha Dooley of Clanton; stepdaughter, Valyn Behan; stepson, Jason Headley; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Inez Gray of Helena; six nephews; and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Danial and Pearlie Dooley; brother, Billy Joe Dooley; brother, Doug Dooley; sister, Helen Smith; sister, Dean Knight; nephews: Johnny Dooley, Dickie Smith and Ricky Knight; and niece, Rita Yates.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 5, at 2 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Messer and the Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton.
