Hoyt Lamar Thrash, 87, of Jemison, passed away on June 2.

He was born on May 7, 1926, in Chilton County, the son of the late Martin Eugene Thrash and the late Alice Gentry Thrash.

He was a superintendent.

He is survived by his daughter, Myra Varden (Pete) of Jemison; sons, Greg Thrash (Jo) of Jemison and Marty Thrash (Sharon) of Jemison; grandchildren, Monica, Ryan, Chris, Brian, Brandon, Shay, Casey, Kyle, Michael and Kaylan; 10 great-grandchildren and a special friend, Misty Cleckler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Alice Thrash; wife, Dot Thrash; and brothers and sisters, Emma, Ernest, Edward, Bernie, Onzell, Artell, Lula, Thelma, Preston, Willadean and Clarice.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on June 4 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held on June 5 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willard Frederick officiating.

Interment will follow in Union Grove Community Cemetery in Jemison.
