Mountain Springs Church
Services started on Sunday with Bro. Kenneth Moates leading the church in the following hymns: “I’ll Be Listening,” “I Would Not Be Denied,” “This World is Not My Home,” and “Where the Soul Never Dies.”
Bro. Roger Cleckler gave the devotion from Psalms 27:13-14: Wait on the Lord because help is on the way.
After Sunday school, Bro. Kenneth led the church in the hymn “Mansion Over the Hilltop,” and Sam Ross and Debbie Barnett sang “Jesus is Alive and Well.”
Our former pastor, Bro. Donald Vanderslice, was with us this Sunday. Bro. Don preached from Luke 21:5-15: If you don’t have things settled in your heart, God will not be able to use you. We need to settle in our hearts that we need the church and the church needs us. Where is your heart today?
The evening service began with Bro. Kenneth leading the church in the hymns “Glory to His Name,” “I’ve Got That Old Time Religion in my Heart,” and “I Never Shall Forget the Day.”
Bro. Ricky Bice gave a devotion from Titus 1, and did a wonderful job. Juliyanne Rutherford sang “Temporary Home,” and blessed the church with the wonderful singing talent with which God has blessed her.
Bro. Don preached from 1 Kings 17:1-15: God will keep his promises and make provisions. He will use us in order for us to help ourselves and to help others.
Don’t forget our services are Sundays at 9:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Hope to see you there!
Bethsalem Baptist Church
Mrs. Sharon Williams directed our music, welcomed everyone and recognized those having birthdays and anniversaries. Roy Martin gave ministry opportunities. The Call to Worship music, sung by the congregation, was “Christ Alive, Christ Triumphant.”
Bro. Matt Hall brought the message from 1 Peter 4:3-19 titled “Redirecting a New Life.” The message: Don’t waste any more of your life by going in the wrong direction.
Special music, “How Great Thou Art,” was provided by Kelsey Pierce.
The evening message, “A Passion to Serve and Follow Him,” came from Psalms 85:6-8, 37:2-33.
Wednesday family supper: 5:30 p.m.
Business meeting: 6:30 p.m., Children’s choir and The Outlet for students.
Pray For Norma Willis, Lilliana Thompson, Hunter Moore, the Crawford Family, Elridge Townsend, Ellen Seals, Brent Wright, Harold Pierce, Carolyn Duke, Vickie Mims, Arnold Deloach, Sid Criner, Stacy Cooper, J.T. Glasscock, Frankie Smith, Chad Nix, Charles and Gladys Bryant, our church committee in their search for a new pastor, our homebound, those in the nursing home, all who are facing cancer and those who have lost loved ones.
Happy Birthday to Bill Smith, Brannon Williams, Roy Martin and Kayler Bradberry. Happy Anniversary to Jerry and Jill Jackson.
