Mt. Carmel
The choir opened the morning worship hour with “Victory in Jesus.” We should think of Sunday as a special day given to us for praise and worship. We praise God for prayers answered for little Jacob Jones. He was able to be in our Sunday morning service with us. Remember to keep him in your prayers.
“God Watches All of Us” was the title of the children’s sermon-in-a-sack Sunday. God sees all you do and say. We have to use binoculars to watch and see things far off, but God sees us without binoculars. Bro. Derrell taught the children to know that God sees and hears them at all times and places.
Bro. Derrell Jones’ sermon was titled “Rebuilding Broken Walls,” Nehemiah 4:5-6. To rebuild broken walls, you have to come together in one mind to work, using your talents and let God use you to get the job done. Expose your life; live a life that reflects your Christian life. When working for God, lay aside your differences; let God lead. So build we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof; for the people had a mind to work. We make our prayer unto our God. Always pray and read your Bible daily.
Please come join us as we celebrate the Lord Jesus in praise and worship this Sunday. Bro. John Dennis will be bringing our messages Sunday morning and evening. We will be looking for you and your family.
Sunday evening, our special music was “Blessed Jesus Hold My Hand,” as led by Bro. Derrell, as all the congregation joined in singing.
Our Sunday night message was “Test Yourself,” 2 Corinthians 13:5-7. Paul said to the Corinthians, “Be sure you know you are saved.” Do not have preacher salvation, following the preacher. Denomination salvation, are you saved or just a church member? Sincerity salvation, only Jesus Christ can save; know you are saved. Emotional salvation, we need to feel the presence of the Lord in our service; know God is near. Salvation by works, works will not save you. Be sure you know you are saved.
On Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. at Clanton First Baptist Christian Life Center, the 2012 Evangelism Rally will be held. The evangelist will be Dr. Bob Pittman and music will be by Paid in Full. Our church services will be dismissed for this Sunday night in order for our congregation to attend the Evangelism Rally.
We welcome all our visitors and church family to come join us for worship and fellowship Sunday morning and Sunday evening. Remember to pray for all the prayer requests, and have a blessed week.
