Trammell’s wish was granted when she was six years old, but, due to her health, she was never able to take her trip, until recently when she finally got cleared by her doctors.
She was gone July 18–26, vacationing in the different parks and meeting characters like Mickey Mouse, Shrek, Tigger and the Disney princesses.
“I kept thinking, I still can’t believe I’m here!” said Trammell.
After being gone for over a week, however, she said she was ready to come home.
“It was a lot fun, but I got homesick.”
Though they have a free pass to any park in the United States for the next year, according to them, they won’t be planning another trip anytime soon.
Puckett said they plan to rest for a while, and Trammell wants to go to En Fuego with her best friend since 6th grade, whose name is also Stephanie.
The date for Trammell’s next heart surgery is undetermined because of her health, but in the meantime, Trammell will go on with her everyday life.
Her daughter doesn’t qualify for a heart transplant, Puckett said, so the doctors plan to “repair what they can and deal with it as it goes.”
She said sometimes it gets tough, but their faith keeps them strong.
“It’s just God. That’s the only way [we make it.]”
