The men’s facility will house recovering addicts, alcoholics and people in any similar transition.
“We get a lot of people coming out of the jail who don’t have anywhere to go,” said Bingham.
In addition to those in need of temporary housing, Grace of God Ministries also offers assistance to those who have long-term needs, and, according to Bingham, they’ve been able to get four people into housing.
Sometimes, though, they have to house people on location. Up until about two weeks ago, they had seven people staying in the facilities.
“We’re just servants,” Ralph said about he and his wife of over 40 years, Linda, who recently left their home in Alabaster to be closer to their ministry. “I don’t really get a pay, and I don’t want one. I guess I just feel like I’ll be paid on the other side.”
“Sometimes it gets tough, but we’ve got a tough God.” Bingham continued, “We do what we can. If we can help we do. Clothes, food, whatever the need is, we’re here.”
Those seeking assistance, or those looking to provide it, can contact Through the Grace of God Ministries at 755-8199.
