R.C. Barrett, 76, of Plantersville died Friday, July 13, 2012, at Jackson Hospital, Montgomery.

He was born on Friday, Dec. 6, 1935, in Alabama, son of the late Gerstle Garland Barrett and the late Bertha Weaver Barrett.

He was a heavy equipment operator.

Surviving are his sons, Rolie Barrett, Bob (Brandy) Short; daughters, Joyce (Leslie) Hale, Lisa (Mark) Smith, Kerry (Johnathan) Calloway; grandchildren, Kayla Debord, Amanda Smith, Danny Weitman II, Brody Short, Briana Short, Kaylee Calloway, Alexis Calloway; brother, Garland Sether Barrett; sisters, Josephine Marlow, Lilly Walker and Linda Latham.

Friends were received from 6–8 p.m., Sunday, July 15 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services were held Monday, July 16, at 2 p.m. at University Highway Church of God with the Rev. Mark Smith and the Rev. Billy Boatwright officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Maplesville.
