Verbena High School is having special registration days for new students going into grades K–12 on Aug. 6–7 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Those wishing to register should bring their child’s blue immunization record, registered birth certificate, Social Security card and proof of residence (such as a utility bill), in addition to the withdrawal form and grades from their last school.
Legal guardianship papers will also be required if the student is living with one parent or someone other than the parents.
The first day of school is Aug. 20 this year, and there will be an orientation and open house for the elementary students on Aug. 16—for grades K–2 from noon til 4 p.m. at the Verbena annex and for grades 3–6 from 11 a.m. til 3 p.m. at the main campus.
School supplies may be brought to the school on this orientation day.
There will be some changes in the parent pick-up location this coming year due to a new driveway that has been completed at the main campus. Principal Robin Cagle will provide more information during the orientation.
