The sweet aroma of peach-packed dishes and desserts filled Thorsby First Baptist Church on June 23 during the 2012 Peach Festival Cook-Off Contest.

Following Clanton resident Debra Florea’s demonstration on how to make cake pops, winners of the contest displayed their dishes and offered samples to attendees.

Judges chose first, second and third place winners from the Adult and Youth divisions.

Adult Division winners were:

•Vivian Wallace, first place for her Peach Cake.

•Peggy Green, second place for her Perky Peach Chicken Salad.

•Beau Kendrick, third place for his Smoky Peach Turnover.

Youth Division winners were:

•Ashley Beth Jones, first place for her Grilled Peach Cobbler.

•Savannah Swindle, second place for her Peach-Pecan Pie.

•Abbi Calhoun, third place for her Peach Pecan Crunch.

Each winner received a cash prize and a ribbon.
