The Facebook page will serve as another means to communicate with local residents and promote Rotary Club projects, which include RYLA, the annual Clanton Christmas Parade and handing out free dictionaries to each third grader in the county every year, among others.

Though a relatively small club with 14 members, the website and Facebook page places the Chilton County club at the forefront of Rotary’s efforts to enhance its digital position.

“Awards are given out at the district conference each year for clubs with web sites,” Yeargan said. “We’re a small club and yet we’re on the leading edge.”
