Virgil Lamar Lowery

Virgil L. Lowery, beloved husband and father, 77, of Lynn Haven, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Clanton and lived in Bay County since moving here from Okinawa in 1969. Virgil served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a MSGT. After his military career, he was the owner and operator of Lowery Construction Company for more than 20 years, working as a residential contractor. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his friends and family. Virgil was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Lowery.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Josephine Lowery of Lynn Haven; his daughter, Cheryl Cooper and husband Matt of Panama City; two brothers, Ned Lowery and wife Carol of Jemison, and Robert Lowery and wife Ethel of Clanton; a sister, Billie Ann Biehl and husband Danny of Snowflake, Ariz. and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Watson officiating. Interment will follow. Special thanks are extended to Dr. Neal Dunn and his staff and Roxanne with Covenant Hospice for the loving care given to Virgil.
