Rebels now 6-0 on the season

Thorsby High School defeated West Blocton 8-3 on Monday in the first of four baseball games they have scheduled for this week.
The Rebels’ Bo Hoffman was the starting pitcher. He had eight strikeouts and only allowed one hit over three innings of work.
The Rebels’ opened up the scoring in the bottom of the first as five runs crossed the plate. The runs came off of a single from Jason Price, a two-run double from Jace Maddox and a two-run single from Brantley Maddox.
THS scored again when Parker Bryan scored off of a sacrifice fly from Matt Morgan in the bottom of the second.
West Blocton scored their only three runs in the fifth inning.
The Rebels scored their last two runs in the bottom of the fifth. They came off of an RBI single from J.R. Posey and an RBI double from Matt Morgan.
Jace Maddox came in to pitch in the sixth inning. He struck out the first batter but allowed a single to the second batter of the inning. The next batter hit a grounder that was turned into 4-6-3 double play that ended the inning.
Jace Maddox finished off the Mustangs with a perfect seventh inning.
The Rebels’ offense was led by Price, a senior who was 2-for-4 at the plate with one RBI; and Brantley Maddox who went 3-for-3 with a walk and 2 RBI. Jace Maddox also contributed, driving in two runs.
The Rebels are now 6-0 on the season.
