Ruby Nell Edwards

Ruby Nell Edwards, age 65 of Jemison, passed away on Feb. 15, 2012, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

She was born in Chilton County on Jan. 3, 1947. the daughter of the late James L. “Jack” Dennis and the late Maryledean Peters Duke.

She worked in sewing at the cotton mill in Siluria.

She is survived by: son, Jimmy Dennis of Gadsden; daughter, Cheryl Edwards of Gulf Shores; son, Lewis Edwards of Jemison; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Levis Peters of Jemison; sister, Lois Martin of Clanton; brother, Ray Dennis of Jemison; sister, Terri Dotson of Clanton; and sister, Gerri Pairett of Clanton.

She is preceded in death by: daughter, Caroline Bates; father, Jack Dennis; mother, Maryledean Duke; three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16 at Ellison-Mims Funeral Home in Clanton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 from Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Brand and the Rev. Oneal Cleckler officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Clanton.
