William Henry “Bill” Clark

William Henry “Bill” Clark of Thorsby passed away Jan. 13, 2012, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was 76 years old.
He was born June 4, 1935, in Barbourville (Knox County), Ky., to Green Edward Clark and Mae Sue Melton Clark.
Formerly, Mr. Clark was a superintendent for the R.R. Dawson Bridge Company of Bessemer, but he spent his later years as a farmer. He enjoyed tending to his cattle, was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan, and his greatest pleasure was watching his grandkids play sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Mae Clark; his sisters, Ruth Martin, Rea Dawson, Hortense Farmer and JoAnn Poindexter; and brother, Harold Clark.
Mr. Clark is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Riggs Clark of Thorsby; son, Bill Clark and wife Angie of Jemison; daughter, Althea Minor and husband Tim of Thorsby; granddaughter, Addison Minor of Thorsby; grandsons, Will Clark of Jemison, Drew Minor of Thorsby and Matthew Clark of Jemison; brother, Jack Clark and wife Sue of Rockholds, Ky.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Pallbearers will be: Will Clark, Drew Minor, Brent Clark, Aaron Griffith, John Crisologo and Coleman Jack Clark. He will be escorted by Matthew Clark and Addison Minor.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 16 at 1 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Mims Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Hilyer and Bro. James Shropshire officiating.
Burial will follow in Thorsby Memorial Cemetery in Thorsby.
