Red Devils win first game

Maplesville’s boys basketball team earned a win in its first game of the season, 52-46, on Thursday over Thorsby.

The Red Devils led 15-10 after one period and 31-21 at halftime but were outscored 15-8 in the third period as the visiting Rebels made the home crowd sweat.

Anthony Johnson’s 17 points helped stave off THS.

Cameron Morrow had 16 points for Maplesville, and Apollos Abercrombie had seven.

Houston Daniel paced Thorsby with 19 points, and Jeffrey Thornton had 14 points.
