The joint choirs of Trinity Episcopal Church and Resurrection Catholic Church will once again present a Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols for Advent/Christmas.

This year the service will be at 6:30 p.m. at on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 503 Second Avenue South in Clanton.

The one-hour service, a tradition of many churches for more than 100 years, includes nine readings of Scripture and nine Advent hymns, all of which relate to the coming of Jesus Christ.

An offering will be given to the Chilton County Emergency Assistance Center.

Everyone is invited to attend and join in the singing of the hymns. A reception will follow in Trinity’s parish hall.
