Dan Benson, age 66 of Maplesville, passed away on Nov. 21, 2011, at Chilton Medical Center in Clanton.

He was born in Alabama on Feb. 20, 1945, the son of the late Howard Ripley Benson and the late Lula Alma Moore Benson.

Mr. Benson was a truck driver for Harrison Logging Company.

He is survived by: wife, Maureen Benson of Maplesville; daughter, Denise Abbott of Maplesville; daughter, Amy Williams of Verbena; daughter, Dana Reeves of Billingsley; daughter, Rachel Walker of Jemison; daughter, Melissa Blackmon of Billingsley; son, David Benson of Maples-ville; son, Jeremy Benson of Jemison; nine grandchildren; and sister, Gladys Jean Moore of Selma.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at Ellison-Mims Funeral Home.

At Mr. Benson’s request, no funeral services will be held.
