The Clanton Police Department will add two probation officers some time in 2012. The Clanton City Council approved a job description for the new positions during Monday’s meeting.
Police Chief Brian Stilwell said the officer would work with the court system, which deals with 190 probationers a month. The positions were approved with the next budget that started in October; however, the jobs won’t be filled until after the first of the year.
In other business, the council took the following actions:
•Approved moving police officer Nathan Willis from part-time to full-time.
•Appointed Ann Baker to a term on the Library Board.
