Vernon Lee Headley, 79, of Clanton died Monday, May 2, 2011.

He was born Saturday, Oct. 3, 1931, in Chilton County, the son of the late Lee Headley and the late Maggie Keith Headley.

He was a shop foreman with Alabama Power.

Surviving are his wife, Ethel Baker Headley of Clanton; three sons, Danny Headley of Clanton, Dudley (Laura) Headley of Cropwell, and Wally (Mary) Headley of Pinson; three grandsons, Christopher Lee Headley, Mathew Paul Headley and Justin Kyle Headley; a granddaughter, Heather Nicole Headley; a great-granddaughter, Olivia Brook Headley; and sister, Myrtle Headley Ellison of Clanton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Maggie Headley; brothers, Marvin, Oliver and Melvin Headley; and sisters, Lucille Headley Thompson and Alice Headley Littleton.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, May 4 at 11 a.m. at Pinedale Assembly of God Cemetery with the Rev. Thurmond Cleckler officiating.
