Willie Jean Willis, age 85 of Clanton, passed away on Oct. 9, 2011, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton. She was born on June 16, 1926, in Chilton County, the daughter of the late Monroe Mims and the late Eulabell Easterling Mims.

Mrs. Willis was a homemaker.

She is survived by: son, David Willis of Calera; son, Douglas Willis of Jemison; daughter, Flossie J. Beard of Clanton; brother, James Mims of Clanton; sister, Glenda Mims of Birmingham; seven grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by: husband, Sidney Julius Willis; Parents, Monroe and Eulabell Mims; brother, William Mims; and sister, Mary Alice Mims.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11 from 6-8 p.m. at Ellison-Mims Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. from Bell Lane Baptist Church Cemetery in Clanton, with Nathan Young eulogizing.
