“I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence. For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; satest in the throne judging right. Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever. O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them. But the Lord shall endure for ever: he hast prepared his throne for judgment. And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee” (Psalm 9:1-10).
Thought for the week: “Let Me Live My Life For You”
“Oh Lord, let me live my life for you in everything that I say and do. Please walk with me through dark valleys and let me soar to life’s peaks with You. Once I thought in yesteryears that I could manage my life all alone only to find my erroneous thoughts were not the seeds You had sown. When life’s failures sadden my heart and I’m filled with great distress, I reach out to You, dear Savior, then I’m filled with much happiness. May my love for You grow each day, and please put my doubts to rest, so that I can live my life for You and give You my very best.”

The morning message was given by Pastor Dukes. His theme was “If God Is For You, Who Can Be Against You?” God is quick to forgive and slow to wrath (1 Kings 19:1-3, 9).
What are you doing here? Are you where God did not tell you to go? God wants you to walk in freedom; not in bondage, not depression. How do you handle life’s problems, do you hide? Why run? God has equipped you with everything you need — you have the Spirit to overcome; don’t quit. Don’t let the enemy have power over all.
What are you doing here when God has brought you through so many storms? We all have been through storms, instead of thinking about who controls the storm. Keep your focus on God; not yourself. Don’t hide from life, you can’t enjoy life and hide at the same time. Make the best of your life, God won’t let you quit. Arise and eat, get strength don’t have a pity party. God needs you to travel on a journey. God speaks within us in a still, small voice — do you hear him?
On our sick list this week we ask you to remember in your prayers: Jerry Wilson, Lee Anna Worthey, Sam and Vivian Hicks, Delores Morrow, Jessie Childs, Jr. Evelyn Austin, Robert Spence and Martha Binion. May God heal, strengthen and keep them in His care is our prayer.
