Birmingham man dies in I-65 wreck

A two-vehicle wreck early Wednesday morning in Chilton County claimed the life of a Birmingham man.
Jessie Williams Jr., 41, was killed at about 1:40 a.m. when the 2000 GMC truck he was driving was struck by a 1999 Freightliner about three miles south of the Clanton city limits, according to a release by the Alabama Department of Public Safety.
Williams’ truck ran out of fuel and was parked partially on the northbound side of the highway when it was struck by the tractor-trailer, according to the release.
No additional information is available at this time as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this crash.
