Charles Cecil Foshee

Charles Cecil Foshee, 97, of Alabaster died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2011, at Chandler Health & Rehab in Alabaster.

He was born Friday, Feb. 13, 1914, in Chilton County, son of the late Charles D. Foshee and the late Irona Popwell Foshee.

He was a lifelong citizen of Chilton County, raised in the New Cedron Community. He attended Auburn University. He worked at the Childersburg Heavy Water Plant during WWII. He was also a farmer and a crew contractor in construction.

Surviving are his two sons, John C. Foshee II of Alabaster and Charles M. Foshee of Birmingham; daughter-in-law, Mary S.  Foshee of Alabaster; two grandsons, J. Douglas Foshee of Birmingham and Michael C. Foshee of Birmingham.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Serena M. Foshee; parents, Charles D. and Irona Foshee; brothers, John C., Hugh, Mitchell P. and Clyde H. Foshee; sister, Mary Foshee Seay; and stepmother, Bertha Culver Foshee.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Aug. 27 at  9:30 a.m. at Clanton City Cemetery.
