Six drug arrests made in Clanton

Six people were arrested on drug charges on June 28 in the West End community.
Clanton Police Department received several complaints about a residence on the 300 block of Wade Street, where the arrests were made, and an operation was put into place that lasted several weeks.
Arrested in the operation were:
• George Hughley Jr., possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, $5,750 bond
• Darius Sartain, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, $5,750 bond
• Travius Parker, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, $5,750 bond
• John Ellis Jr., possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and five counts of distribution of a controlled substance, $56,250 bond
• Callente Browder, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, $5,750 bond
• Michael Nelson, possession of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, $5,750 bond
The operation was conducted by Sgt. David Bone and Detective David Kline with the Criminal Investigations Division.
During the execution of the search warrant, which occurred at 6 p.m., detectives found crack cocaine and several pills of prescription medication.
