Baseball player with local ties drafted by Cubs

Hunter Kelley, grandson of Roy and Gay Kelley of Clanton, was selected by the Chicago Cubs organization in the Major League Baseball draft on June 8.

Hunter Kelley completed his freshman year at Calhoun Community College, where he attended on a baseball scholarship.
He was selected to the Alabama Community Conference’s all-region team as a freshman and to the National Junior College Athletic Association All-American team.
