Thorsby’s Park and Recreation is inviting everyone to come out and support the park and baseball teams at their annual Barbecue Day fundraiser.
The event, which will be held Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., will be $3 general admission and free for coaches and players.
Players 3 to 12 years of age will play 17 games during the event. Each year, Thorsby, along with other parks in the county, sponsor their own event to raise money to go in the parks’ funds for park maintenance, equipment, fields, supplies and other things that may be needed.
“If someone wants to come in and buy a barbecue plate then they do not have to pay to get in,” said Crystal Smith, park director/president. “But if they want to watch the game they will have to pay $3.”
Boston butts will also be available for $20.
