Tell it to Jesus

“Truly my soul waiteth upon God:  from him cometh my salvation.  He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.  How long will ye imagine mischief against a man?  ye shall be slain all of you:  as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.  They only consult to cast him down from his excellency:  they delight in lies:  they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly.  My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.  He only is my rock and my salvation:  he is my defence; I shall not be moved.  In God is my salvation and my glory:  the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.  Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him:  God is a refuge for us” (Psalms 62:1-8).

Thought for the week: “Tell it to Jesus”

“When your heart is full of troubles and the teardrops of despair, do not cry and pine and worry — tell it to the Lord in prayer.  Pray to Him for love and comfort when your troubles make you cry — he is always in your presence with the comforts life denies.  Tell Him of the griefs and heartaches that are burdens in your life and the wishes that you pray for to becalm your tears and strife.  He will touch your heart with comfort and His love of holy grace, in a sanctity of blessings and the warmth of His embrace.”

Worship service at Holly Grove Baptist Church in Jemison began with praise service by the senior choir of prayer, scripture and songs.  Songs sung were, “I’ll Fly Away” and “I Never Lost My Praise.”

The scripture was read by Charles Arrington with prayer by Pastor Dukes and Carl Singleterry.  The morning message was given by Pastor Dukes with His theme “Who God Is In The Midst Of.” (Ref. Psalm 17 entire start at verse 6).

God is my protector; the enemy wants to distract you from God’s word.  The devil will try to get to you by quoting scripture, but watch, he will change it if only by the word.  Don’t believe the devil.  God does not give you the spirit of fear.  God is your protector; don’t be afraid.  Pray for protection like David did.  Talk to God for yourself.  Talk to God; his sheep know his voice.  Ask God to examine you.

How is your lifestyle? Submit to God.  Live for Jesus; do you act and talk like him?  Ask him to test and try you.  Ask for a clean heart and a right spirit.  Ask God and keep you on the right trail, and don’t seek revenge.  The enemy wants you to get out of God’s will, but hold fast, hear me when I speak, you are my refuge, Lord keep me.

God has to be in your life to guide and protect you. He is waiting; let him in, pray for protection.  Ask God to rescue you and deliver you from the wicked.  The enemy is not as big as God: in God’s eyes I am more than a conqueror.

Follow Jesus and he will direct your paths, call him with conviction.  Don’t allow the enemy to take control of your life.  Everything will be all right.

The service concluded with fellowship by Pastor Dukes, deacons and the congregation.
