New Life Community Church will host a Relay For Life car show Saturday, March 26 at Goose Pond Park.
The event is free of admission, but anyone who wants to make a donation to Relay For Life may do so.
“Last year, the event raised approximately $1,000, and I’m hoping we beat that this year,” said Kristi Langston, coordinator of the event. “My aunt owns antique cars, and I thought this would be a good way to raise money for Relay For Life.”
Hot dogs, chips, drinks and baked goods will be sold.
Trophies will be awarded for best in show and people’s choice.
A panel of judges will choose the winner for best in show, but those attending will vote with money, and whichever car raises the most will be the winner of the people’s choice category.
“I hope we get about 20-25 cars,” said Langston. “I’m asking everyone to come out and support Relay For Life. I’m hoping it has a really good turnout.”
Those interested can register a car for the show the day of the event or register early. To enter into the competition, donations are $20 for the first car, $15 for second car and $10 for third car.
Goose Pond Park is located at 7th Street North and Blackberry Lane in Clanton.
