Isabella High School’s softball team hosted Shades Mountain on Tuesday afternoon and ran away with a 15-0 win.
IHS was led by Chelsea Cox, both on the mound and at the plate. She pitched all four innings of the game, allowing only one hit and striking out eight of the SMCA hitters.
The only thing more impressive than Cox’s pitching performance was her batting. She went 4-for-4 with one double and two triples, driving in five runs and scoring two of her own.
The score was 8-0 as the Mustangs stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the fourth inning, and the SMCA pitcher walked the first five batters of the inning.
The score was 9-0 when seventh grader Makaela Littleton, drove in a run with a single.
After two doubles from junior Allison Mims and Cox, the score was 14-0.
Mims scored the last run of the game after a SMCA passed ball.
