Laverta L. Smith, 89, of Prattville died Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at Baptist South in Montgomery.

She was born Thursday, Sept. 8, 1921, in Alabama, daughter of the late Leslie F. Broadhead and the late Belvia H. Popwell Broadhead.

She was a lunchroom manager.

Surviving are her daughter-in-law, M. Ann Smith of Prattville; granddaughter, Teri Roe of Prattville; great granddaughters, Katon Roe of Prattville, Paisley Roe of Prattville; three great grandsons, Zachary Sigmon of Prattville, Carson Sigmon of Prattville and Jaxson Roe of Prattville; and sister, Olga Martin of Calera.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Smith; and son, Leslie “Sonny” Smith.

Services will be held Sunday, Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Bishop officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
