Nelle McCary Thomas, 78, of Thorsby died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010.

She was born Sunday, Oct. 23, 1932, in Maplesville, the daughter of the late William Young Hayes and the late Frances Carlton Hayes.

She was a teller.

Surviving are her two nephews, James David (Mary Hunt) Hayes of Columbus, Ga. and Larry (Terri) Underwood of Thorsby; three great nephews, David William Hayes of Atlanta, Jonathan Lee Hayes of Columbus, Ga. and

Brian Hayes of Calera; and step-son, Craig Thomas of Atlanta.

Friends will be received from 12-1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 27 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Monday, Dec. 27 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Bishop officiating.

Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Cemetery in Maplesville.
