Dates set for Christmas parades

It’s beginning to look like a lot like Christmas — and dates and times for upcoming parades and other seasonal events are being finalized.
The Clanton Christmas Parade will be Friday, Dec. 3, starting at 6 p.m. James Spann, chief meteorologist with ABC 33/40, will be this year’s grand marshal.
Applications to be in Clanton’s parade are available at Clanton City Hall and The Clanton Advertiser. Applications should be submitted no later than Tuesday, Nov. 30.
The Rotary Club of Chilton County will again sponsor’s this year’s parade. Anyone with questions should contact Rotary member Roger Yeargan at (205) 351-1913.
Other parades and events are as follows:
•Clanton’s Christmas Tree Lighting will be Thursday, Dec. 2, with live entertainment starting at 6 p.m. The tree will be lit at 6:30 p.m.
•Jemison’s annual Christmas parade will be Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m.
•Maplesville’s annual Christmas parade and tree lighting program will be Saturday, Nov. 27. The Christmas tree lightning is set for 5 p.m., and the parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. Please contact Sheila Haigler at 334-366-4211 or Christine Epperson at 334-375-1236 for more information or if you would like to participate in either event.
•Thorsby’s annual Christmas parade will be Saturday, Dec. 4 at 4:30 p.m.
