Ethel Taylor Hayes Davenport, age 88, of Maplesville passed away on Nov. 1, 2010.

She was born in Heiberger, the daughter of Jesse Clay and Lucy Lawson Taylor.

She was the youngest and the last of 11 children, with five brothers and five sisters.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Allen Hayes and Proctor Davenport, and her son, Ricky Hayes.

Mrs. Davenport is survived by her daughter, Patty (Daniel) Smitherman of Maplesville; grandson, James (Dawn) Smitherman of Maplesville; granddaughters, Renee (Tony) Reynolds of Lawley and Beverly (Wayne) Lockhart of Plantersville; three great grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church No. 2.

Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church No. 2 cemetery with the Rev. Tony Reynolds and the Rev. Lynn Roe officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, Nov. 3 from 6-8 p.m.
